Bali in February is very hot and humid, regardless if it is during the day or night. We were very excited to photograph a wedding inspirational photoshoot at Cuca Restaurant organized by Wonderland Bali. We were in for quite the treat when we arrived. Cuca Restaurant is the top fine dining restaurant in Bali and is actually owned by a Canadian Chef, Kevin Cherkas, from Vancouver! The reason why we knew was because we recognized his Canadian accent (yes there is such a thing)! The grounds just blew me away. Lush greenery everywhere and every spot is a photo opportunity.
I shot this entire set of Bali wedding photos at Cuca Restaurant using my Mamiya 645AF and Fuji400h film. I love how the greens look on film and just how soft and ethereal the images turned out.
We were sweating bullets the entire time there and we worked quickly against the heat. The ladies from Wonderland Bali did such fabulous job at setting this entire shoot up. We had communicated via email and Skype prior to the shoot and it was just so fabulous to meet Bali wedding planners in person.
Bali has been such a dream and we had so much fun there. During my time in Bali, I’ve also photographed a dreamy destination wedding at Conrad Bali that was featured in the WeddingBells magazine, pre-wedding photoshoot at Bali’s Blue Point Beach, Ubud Elopement at Kupu Kupu Barong and an Ujung Water Palace engagement shoot. I’m always looking for an opportunity to be back! 24 hour flight travel time? WORTH IT!
