Tried to do some newborn photos and the little man Tried to do some newborn photos and the little man cooperated by giving me the cutest little smile!

In my last post I mentioned about what I would have done in hindsight that I think could have potentially resulted in less than my 7 rounds of IVF. This is just my opinion and my thoughts based on my experience. These are the things that I would have done differently if I could go back in time:

1) Switch clinics or doctors after two failed retrievals. My mistake was putting too much trust in my doctor and the lab. I know they have great tech and the doc has great surgical skills, but if I’m not getting the results I want, then I need to explore another option or seek a second or third opinion.

2) If the doc is not giving you the time and attention you need, if he/she is rushing the appt, the office/appt itself stresses you out each time you go there or if they pressure you to do anything you don’t want to, go find another doctor. You pay too much to be treated poorly. My mistake here again was putting up with it because I thought they were the best of the best and I should just stick it out. But the added stress of just being there made everything worse.

3) Do your own research and decide if embryo testing is really for you. There are some docs that are pro for it and some that are not. If your doc pressures you to always test and gives you attitude for choosing otherwise, find another doctor. Personally, I wish I had not tested any of my embryos and gave them all a chance. Again, that’s just my opinion.

4) I’m a big fan of naturopath. I am glad I went to see one and I wish I did that way b4 I started this journey so I could have been on the right supplements from the start.

5) Schedule consultations with multiple clinics when you are first exploring IVF. Every doctor’s approach is diff. Find a clinic that minimize your stress level, listens to your concerns and a doc that really understands and cares about you as a patient. If they treat you like a number, leave asap.

Hope this helps!

We’ve waited too long for this moment, too long We’ve waited too long for this moment, too long for this little guy to enter our lives. We’re over the moon to have baby Finnley in our arms and home safe with us :).

The little man made his grand entrance screaming and I’m pretty sure it shook the whole OR lol. The birth itself was very traumatizing and I was completely unprepared for this, perhaps that’s another story for another time.

Sam is completely in love with the little guy and I honestly have never seen him stare at anyone with so much love. He keeps telling Finnley that he’s unable to get mad or frustrated at him cuz he’s so darn squishy lol. He kept standing by his hospital bassinet in the middle of the night just watching him sleep! It’s mega sweet.

Was seven rounds of IVF worth it? Yes, yes it was. I honestly never thought that his moment would come and throughout the entire pregnancy I was still in some sort of disbelief and constantly worried that this would all be taken away from me at an instant. I will never forget the needles, the gajillion blood draws that makes me so scared of needles now, the IVs that they can never get into my veins and they try until I tear up, the uncomfortable ultrasounds, all the doctors that tell me I’m old, the bloating, the anxiety when I hear the phone ring for my day 1, 3 and 5 embryo report and the countless disappointments. Even with all that, he was worth it. Knowing what I know now, I feel like I could have had Finnley without all 7 rounds of IVF and there were definitely things that I wish I hadn’t spent the money on. I’ll save that for another story time if anyone is interested.

When Finnley arrived, it almost felt like our life just started again. We were never morning people, but for him we’ll get up before the sun rises, or we’ll just never sleep and we’ll somehow survive just by watching him sleep soundly instead.

Thank you to my dear friend @helloinspira for these beautiful memories. Can’t wait to put these on my wall!

I think these photos basically sums up our greates I think these photos basically sums up our greatest accomplishment for 2023 :).

The beginning of 2023 was quite the rollercoaster ride. I can say that I was at one of my lowest points of my life in 2021 and 2022 and I was so scared that it would carry over to 2023. And for the first couple of months it did.

The year started off with me switching my IVF Clinic and immediately with my grandma’s departure. The events leading up to that possibly resulted in me having the worse IVF retrieval round ever. (I didn’t believe it at first but I really didn’t comprehend the amount of stress I was under all these years. I just got used to the consistent stress that I thought it was a baseline normal. In reality, stress is stress). My heart shattered. I don’t think I told many people this but we also pursued surrogacy as well. We chatted with many agencies and learned A LOT about that process (feel free to DM me about it).

We tried ONE LAST IVF attempt, made two embryos, did not test and surprisingly one of them stuck!!! I was in disbelief, probably up until the results from the 20wk anatomy scan. I got too scared to celebrate big, worried something might go wrong.

My first real ‘celebration’ was when we did a little private gender reveal at dinner with just the two of us :). My brother was the only know that knew the gender and he wrote it in a cute little envelope titled ‘very important info inside’. Sam and I opened it during dinner and at that moment it made everything seem more real!

The celebration that really made everything come together was our Babymoon to Paris! It was our first trip out of the country in 2023! I’ve never been to Paris before and had such a blast going with @jennifer.louie223 and JC! I look forward to many more trips together!

Aside from this big accomplishment, everything else was quite a blur. We did finish renovating another house and now we’re onto a bigger project: tearing down and building our forever home!

I’m fully ready for 2024 and I’ve never looked forward to a brand new year like this b4!

Cheers to a brand new start! Happy New Year!

Thank you @jessilynnwongphotography for the photos!

Happy Holidays! This will be the last Christmas wi Happy Holidays! This will be the last Christmas with just the three of us, something that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time and finally I’m getting what I want for Christmas! I look forward to doing photos next year as a family of 4!

I am surprised that this $25 dress from SHEIN worked out so well for this shoot! I had no idea that they carried such a good selection on maternity wear and it’s so cheap too! I’m glad I didn’t spend big bucks on clothes for these 9 months! So far my clothes still fits-ish LOL

Thank you @hermanphotos for the photos and doing such a good job at hiding my triple chins lol

I definitely miss doing photoshoots for others and can’t wait to get back into it in April! It’s definitely nice to be on the other side of the camera once in a while too!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Back in Sept when my normal clothes still fits and Back in Sept when my normal clothes still fits and my chin still exists LOL

This was maybe when I was around 5ish months and not as obvious yet. I now believe you when you say the ballooning starts in the 3rd trimester. It’s trueeeeeeeee!!!! I can only fit into Sam’s winter jackets now!

Both my glute areas where I had to do the PIO shots in 2022 still hurts when I push down on it. If you know, you know :(. I don’t think that’ll ever go away. I’m glad that the other clinic that I went to didn’t make me do the PIO shots, that definitely relieved a lot of stress and possibly even contributed to the success IMO.

Thanks @helloinspira for the photos!
