Jess and Mike | Trash the Dress Wedding Photoshoot in Punta Cana

I was so so so so so happy when Jess and Mike suggested to do a Trash the Dress photoshoot in Punta Cana the day after their destination wedding at the Majestic Elegance Resort! AHHH It was such a dream come true! They were totally game with getting completely submerged too! We started the shoot roughly two hours before sunset to hit up a few spots on the resort that we didn’t have a chance to do the day before. We lucked out because the weather was perfect when their shoot started (it had been raining the days before and also rained after).

I especially love day after shoots because the couple can now be relaxed and not be in a hurry to get to dinner, entertain guests, etc. And also, we can freely pick and choose what time to shoot at too! It’s funny because the waves didn’t look that bad until we actually sat in it and realized that even small waves can sweep you away! I think other random people were looking us weird too and wanted to probably warn us that the bride’s dress was in the water! And they were quite surprised to see that they actually ran into the waves!

I’ve so in love with this set of photos because it looks and feels so carefree and fun! We were all just laughing the entire time and was just trying to come up with a plan as to how to clean and dry the dress to bring it home! I would totally die to do a shoot like this again in the Caribbean or elsewhere! I wanna get in the water again! How about going to a waterfall in Iceland?? ANYONE???
