I was literally counting down the days until we fly down to the states for this sunset Los Angeles County Arboretum Engagement Photo Session! My fingers and toes were crossed for a gorgeous sunset (and California delivered)! The very first day we arrived, we went straight from the airport, to lunch, a quick check-in at our Airbnb and then we drove directly to Los Angeles County Arboretum for Pam and Ankit’s engagement session! Boy oh boy was it a hot day there, hot like Vegas kind of hot! Los Angeles County Arboretum has arranged a driver for us to take us around the gardens and we had the whole place to ourselves. I knew for sure we wanted to shoot at the bamboo forest and that bamboo forest did not disappoint! The next few stops were cute little gardens along the way, and we’re basically chasing the sunset at that point. Did you know that the sunset in California looks different that the sunset here in Toronto? If I wasn’t a Toronto Destination wedding photographer, I honestly wouldn’t have known. The sunset in Los Angeles was incredibly orange and that glow is just unreal. The sunset in Toronto I find are a bit whiter and that orange glow only lasts for a very short while. These two are just a dream to photograph! They crack jokes at each other and are just the most natural and comfortable in front of the camera, zero coaching required! I fell in love with California the moment I landed. I love looking at the vegetation in new areas and there are just so many different types of plants and trees and the landscapes are just so unique, nothing like anything I’ve seen in Toronto. I don’t know if I enjoyed the heat but I’m sure I can adjust to that. Traffic though, now that’s a different story. I’ve already been warned how bad traffic is, but wow, it’s like 401 rush hour in Los Angeles at like 11am in the morning. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get from point A to B when you are there.
In a few days, we’ll be seeing Pam and Ankit again for their Indian Wedding at Castle Green in Pasadena, California!
