Tina & Terence | Aga Khan Wedding Proposal

Aga Khan Museum

Aga Khan Museum is like my top three photoshoot locations in Toronto! I was ecstatic when Terence told me about his plans to propose to Tina while they are back in Toronto for a bit (they are both from Hong Kong). Terence and I devised a plan for their proposal at Aga Khan but it really all hinges on the foot traffic that day. A perfect, quiet spot on a Wednesday at the Aga Khan Museum was a little harder to find that expected. Aga Khan is closed on Monday evenings but unfortunately we couldn’t make Mondays work for the proposal. Tina didn’t know about the proposal (she suspected it though) and this was supposed to be a fun photoshoot for them while they are in Toronto. Once we walked to a quiet spot, I signalled Terence and BOOM it happened! He got down on one knee and popped the question! Oh so ultra sweet! She said yes and we continued our photoshoot now with a sparkly new ring on her finger! YAY!

I’m a huge fan of reflection shots so I’m all about running up and down the fountains, walking and walking until the air is perfectly still to get the shot. From a third party’s perspective I probably looked like a crazy lady running all over the place looking for different angles haha. But I don’t care because it worked out quite well! Take a peek below at the fun angles you can get just by playing with reflections.

Congrats Tina and Terence!

Thank you granny for taking care of my brother and Thank you granny for taking care of my brother and I when we were young while our parents worked. You taught me how to play solitaire, killed spiders for me, went on morning walks with me when I had nightmares, picked me up from school in HK, cooked delicious meal for us everyday and took care of us when we were sick. We used to watch the Price is Right together during the summer holidays at 11am and we always put up the Christmas Tree every year together. When mom left, we tried our best to take care of you just like she had and we hope we didn’t fail you. You never once mentioned mom since she left, not once. We knew you blocked it out because it was so painful to process. It took us a while but we finally understood that it was your way of coping with loss.

We got a call at 4:45am this morning that Granny has left. The hospital has already prepped us in November and so did her long term care home. We’re grateful for the nurses at her long term care home to have called us to go in last night to see her when they saw her health is dipping. We thought maybe we had a few more days…

We know, Granny. We know you are now having the family reunion that you’ve been waiting for for 40 years with Grandpa and your children. We know you’re in a happier place now.

As 2022 is coming to a close, I would like to than As 2022 is coming to a close, I would like to thank everyone for their support and friendship. I don’t think I could have made it through 2022 with my sanity intact if it weren’t for those that always checked up on me and guided me. Despite all the ups and downs and challenges that Sam and I have been through in 2021 and 2022, we welcome 2023 with arms wide open. I know I’ve been MIA and I won’t lie, going on social media has been hard. I feel like I’ve lost a bit of myself during the several IVF rounds throughout the past two years. Please bare with me as I collect myself.

I still love photographing families, maternities and couples. And sadly I won’t be taking on new weddings because of the uncertainty in my timeline.

2022 has been a wild ride. We’ve started travelling again (hello Bahamas, Vancouver and Europe) and we’re so thankful for that. I started going back to Orange Theory and are playing more vball! I’ve started reading again and my goal is a book every two weeks (aiming high here lol).

@dannyylcheung thank you for always being there for me and checking up on me. You have no idea how much I appreciate the random phone calls.

@miss.lisawu thank you for all your guidance and support. Seriously, I would have gone completely insane without you. You’re the sweetest person and deserves the world.

@jessilynnwongphotography thank you for always being there to listen to me. You are always so attentive and caring and such a great friend to me. I look forward to decades and decades of friendship with you.

@devotedtoyou you’re an angel and thank you for thinking of me. I know you are have been going through some tough times as well. Know that I’ll always be here for you.

@essyching @moldybread0 @sallyleunginsta my sounding board and ride-or-die girls. You ladies always steer me back on track and I know I can always count on you ladies.

2023 will be an amazing year. I just know it!

Happy New Year everyone!

There has been a lot of ups and downs this year. Most of the times I’m wishing that the year would last longer and dread the upcoming year (also cuz that means I’ll be another year older soon). But this year I can’t wait till 2022 is over and I look forward to what 2023 has in stores for us!

Wishing everyone a safe and fun holiday!
